last week i went out for a super nice dinner at sakae teppanyaki - bugis junction branch.

and it is awesome! i give it:
Food: 4.5/5 Stars
Ambience: 3/5 Stars
Price: 5/5 Stars

it was my first time having teppanyaki and it was a great experience. i ordered a chicken set. however for every set they have a list of dishes besides just chicken. for my chicken set, it came with miso soup, cute tofu, super huge oyster in shell, salmon fish, chicken and salad. ((: and each portion wasnt that big. and it was just nice so much so that the taste of the different various dishes compliment one another. And the whole set only costed $17.90** (before GST & Service Charge)

Well, i tried the mushroom, beef and sotong in the beef set and it was awesome. especially if you are a mushroom lover, the taste of the mushroom just drools out heavenly. lol.

its fun watching the chef cook in front of you and how he just likes flip flip, add sauces and stuff in front of you and serve it to your plate. you get to taste it hot and steamy. For my set, i love the tofus. they are like grilled on the pan but yet soft and silky on the inside with heavenly veggie toppings. And the oyster, it is SUPER big, FRESH and JUICY. they added some sauce to gently grill it on the pan and theres the gravy from the pyster that taste superb. especially if you love oyster. there isnt much of a stale and fishy taste from this kind of seafood in this teppanyaki oyster.

However the down side is the ambience. because it is teppanyaki, all the seats are placed in a circle around the chef and the frying pan. So you continuously smell food around and it gets noisy during peak periods. and the seats are seated quite close to one another. so you dont get much personal space around. even thou its not a place for romance or gossip sessions, it is definitely a place to go for a filling delicious meal with a wide range of dishes for a reasonable pricing.
