It is a beautiful Sunday! (: Went out on a date with my boyfriendy. Even though it was just a simple lunch and movie date, enjoyed myself tremendously!

yesterday was val's 21st birthday party at ZIRCA. lol. to be truth, it was only yesterday then i realised that the old MOS is called ZIRCA. haha. oh well, im not really the clubbing sort of person.

and i was supposed to go to the party with jen and her bf, as initially yoyo couldnt make it. but im glad with the way things turned out! yoyo was able to come with me! and we spent a rather unsual night together before the party. haha.

firstly, it was one of the few rare times when we went out together only when the skies are dark. usually we would go out early in the day and spend the whole day together. then when i reached the mrt station, my beloved little black pumps tore by the sides! and it was pretty hard to walk without much grip! oh well, the shoes is more than 2 years old! so we ended up going to jurong east to get me a new pair! next we had dinner together and off we headed down to town! and then i had pretty bad stomache and was stuck in the toilet for pretty long! plus suddenly i had cramps and all nonsense! haha. which lead to us reaching the club pretty late...

and im not one who really goes clubbing, but the only reason was because its my best friend's 21st! and i will not miss her party, never in the world! haha. and and i gave her the birthday present! hehe. ((: i'm glad she like her present. especially when she open it, the look on her face says it all! hehe. hugs!

and we pretty much stood around, chit chatting and catching up with friends. but you dont really call screaming and shouting above the loud music chit chatting. haha. but im glad to see my sec sch friends and people like roger and maggie over there!

and they pulled us to dance in the cage at rebel. well, actually its my 2nd time there. the first time was when it was still MOS. the music was good, but the crowd was pretty overwhelming. and seriously, i really admire those girls who could dance with high heels on! haha.

and i must say, boyfriend was really sweet the whole night. he stood by me, protected me from weird dancers, danced with me and looked after me! hehe. thank you my dear! ((:

well, it was a pretty good experience, but still its not really my type of life. i slept at 3.30am and woke up at 8! i guess im still pretty much a morning person after all! and im getting pretty tired now! haha.

okays, tioman here we come!
i hope that we will have a blast of a time together with the team.

weee, i have got a new ipod touch! (: (look at the pic! it's brand new out from the box!)

i bought it over the weekends with my hard-earned savings! and it is indeed a gadget to have! especially if you like gadgets, this is one gadget not to be missed as you can do practically everything with it besides calling, taking photos or smsing. other then that its good! haha. i love the app that i can download! i downloaded this game 'sally spa' a popcap safri game which is selling at $29.90 for the CD-rom version at only 99cents!!! ((: and its exactly the same play mode and the same number of levels except you are using your fingers to tap on the ipod touch rather than the mouse to play. its awesome! haha. ((:

the ipod touch really made me happy! hehe i dont have to lug my laptop to sch yet i can check my emails, surf FB, go online in my work place! lol. plus i can do simple editing pictures and so on! lol. i love love love it. its so fun to play around and explore!

okay, if i add anymore it will sound like an apple's ad. lol.



anyways, today we had a little car wash in our school to collect money to donate to the children's society. all the little kids were involved in the car wash and i bet they did enjoy themselves washing and playing with soap and water. ((: plus its for a good deed!

like my new blogskin?

finally after many months, i have changed my blogskin once again. sometimes after a while i feel that my life has become stagnant once again. therefore i need some change. like now, i believed that i have been too cooped up with my work and studies ever since i started studying...

so i guess its time for some positive change in my life. (: i need to start living my life by filling it with happy moments and more happy times. i don't want to remember 2009 as a year that i slog and work non-stop despite the amount of work load a have. for the beginning of the change, its time to change my mindset and also have a blogskin to reflect who i really am.

i love having fun under the sun!

and this year 2009, the theme colour for my nursery 1 class is YELLOW. and yellow brightens up my day. its like a cheerful smile. (: being under the sun doing things i love makes me happy. which means, i need to start doing my favourite hobby, my favourite sport.

i love wakeboarding!

so it means its time to start getting back on to my wakeboarding life again. and start motivating my juniors to train and perform well for our upcoming IVP! RP will break more records this time round. haha. also, wakeboarding allows me to destress and bring out my best! time to start getting my grabs and switches if possible! haha. that will be my goal for the year. ((:

i love my friends and family!

this year i haven really got much time to keep in touch with my friends and family because of hectic schedules. but now i will make it a point to keep in touch with my love ones. and i have learnt that time is yours to organize and arrange. thanks to my dearest and my family, who have stood by me and supporting me through this phrase of life. there is more hardwork and difficult times ahead till i complete my studies. but with your love and support, i know that i will make it through and become a much stronger person. and i believe i can do it!

even though 100 days of 2009 have passed, i think its not too late to make a positive change in my life. life is not about comparing how busy you are or how much you have to do. but its how we manage our life and live our life to the fullest and enjoying every moment. there will always be time for work and time for play. time to be serious and time to have fun. and i hope that my life would progress positively and be stagnant no more. ((:

hello everyone, meet pretty Batam(:



just returned home last night from a wonderful short getaway to Batam. it was a 2 day 1 night trip with batam cable ski and a stay over at holiday inn waterfront with shopping trip down to the town area. everything went perfectly well! haha.

8 of us together started the day meeting at harbourfront to board the cruise - Ocean Flyte which departs at 10am. and we reached batam at 10am too! haha. because batam's time is an hour before ours. before we know it with the transport and all at 10.15am batam's time we started cable wakeboarding all the way till 6pm. hahaha. it was non-stop of fun, joy and laughter under the wonderful perfect wakeboarding weather.



as for my first time cable wakeboarding, i am glad to be able to achieve sooo much.
1) manage to dock start and start of and completeing the entire rounds by curbing the corners.
2) after like super many times, finally managed to jump start rather than dock start
3) tried wakeboarding with a slip-in slippers rather than bindings.
4) wakeskating!
5) knee boarding alone and with friends



it was super duper fun. i did practically everything that we can do at cable other than the slider and the kicker. didnt want to take the risk to injure myself. haha. but i really enjoyed knee boarding. it was super tough to control the direction and all but super fun to be sliding on water. than it was super funny when i sat with val together we kept laughing and holding on to our dear lives. lol. and first time i tried double wakeboarding where 2 person were pulled at the same time... and this time is with yoyo. so sweet. i enjoyed it especially when we were riding together and observing the pretty sunset. and and and, i really loved wakeskating! it was super duper fun! haha. riding with your bare feet on the board with totally no bindings! wwoooots.

and next we proceed to Holiday Inn - Waterfront. i believe thats the best place in the entire area so far. haha. it was a pretty pretty place and totally worth the money for the serivce and all. super relaxing. (: for all the money saved to spend on holiday is awesomely worth it. ((:

we went shopping, eating eating and walking around everywhere too. and i finally see that Sing dollars is worth sooo much in Batam just like how US dollars is worth alot in some countries. haha.

overall, it was a relaxing and lovely holiday. no doubt its just 2 days, it made me feel super relaxed and charged for the weeks to come. haha. and it was made possible with the company of my wonderful friends and my love. (:

val! finally, at the age of 20, we manage to go overseas together. even though its only 2 days, its a start. next time we go thailand or some other further countries together okay! hehes. love you much. (:

and today i received one of the best birthday present ever. i made it through my $300 expensive british council english exam! which means to say, i passed with a good grade of band 7 (where 9 is the maximum and 5 is the passing grade). i was supposed to get at least 6.5 for i only got C5 for my olevels where at least B4 is needed to take further studies in early childhood education. weeees, so i can enrol and start studying by this year or else next year all school fees will increase by the double and so is the studying time from 1 and a half year to 3 years! omg, thats a whole lot of time! therefore, im so happy that i need not waste so much time studying and that i save myself from the terror of sitting for the nerve-recking english exam and another 300 bucks! lol.

on top of that, i had a rather nice birthday. well, the dinner was nice. but work was... not birthday ideal scenario i must say. well, lets not talk about the unhappy things which will make me unhappy again. but rather, thank my wonderful friends, val, jen, thomas and mushin who took time off to come down and join me for dinner at Indulgz Bistro. Nice food again, but a little too ex for some items. thou it was a great place to catch up and slack around! haha. and also thanks for the wonderful presents from my darlings! i love you dears. (:

before my actual birthdate, my parents also celebrated with me and bought me an icecream cake! first time in my life i had an icecream birthday cake! cookies&cream with chunky chocolate to be exact. -lovesloves. (: my dad also cooked up a storm of all my favourite dishes! hehes. feel so blessed to have such wonderful parents.

i also celebrated with my darling cousins! where they took the effort to prepare a delicious japanese meal with all my favourite food! haha. aint i lucky? plus they surprised me with the little colourful jelly and super cute cards! big hugs to them! ((:

well, the only thing really missing was the boy i guess. haha. and thou the birthday is over, there will still be celebrations to come, i guess. probably one at batam and one with him. (: and i really really miss him (more than words can say).


but still, i cant help to feel that im sooo old now. like i just hit the big TWO ZERO. and im a TEENAGER no more. so i guess i gotta learn to grow up and act my age! haha. x) which life goes on, i know that all the wonderful memories will stay in my heart.

even though this is my first ever teachers' day, it will surely not be the last. but just the beginning of a long journey ahead for me. im determined to do better and achieve more.

lastly, i want to thank my love ones and friends for supporting me in making this decision to step into this industry and start working as a childcare teacher. since then, i have never once regretted and will continue to be a better teacher shirley. every mistake i have made will only make me better as it is a valuable lesson learnt. and im glad to be in Mulberry Learning Centre for they really welcome me into their family and work together with me. (:

sometimes after a hard day at work, a little smile; wave or a scream to say 'byebye teacher shirley' brightens up my day! (: no matter how naughty they were in the day, everything seems to be forgotten. and the next day, they will enter my class as a cute little baby i would pinch! haha. but well, when they get naughty, i get angry again. haha.

there's this thing about kids that you cannot stay angry with them for long. x)

and today is friendship day.
so to all my friends out there, be it from primary school, secondary school, poly or work, even those whom i am not contact with anymore, thanks for entering my life. even if it is just a day or even months, you have already made an impact in my life and left your footsteps behind. The sick bug has been flying around lately. last thursday when i fell sick, the next day another teacher went on leave. following that, on monday, i come to hear that 2 teachers fell sick and many many many kids were sick. :/ and thats not very nice to hear.

there's one case on monday that the delivery man came to deliver a huge 3kg minnie mouse cake. supposedly to celebrate a little girl's birthday. but sadly, she's sick to attend school on her birthday. only the cake came and we cut it to serve to the kids without her around. ):
i hate to see my kids falling sick. what more, sick on her own birthday.

Week one of work is over. (: on the whole, it has been a fun and fulfilling week. i've finally get used to their timetable and the names and characteristics of all the kids in my class.




and i really look forward to this weekend to relax and take my mind of the kids for a while. haha. sometimes work gets really tiring especially when you cannot take your eyes off them even for a second or else, you will hear tons of shrieks, screams and cries. lol.


soon after, more work starts to pile in as im going to be taking hold of the nursery 1 reading program and their creative art program. so i need to start planning creative and fun lessons for the young ones soon. ((: well, thats kinda exciting for me. haha. but still, there are so much more for me to learn. i need to know how their lesson plan goes and the school's curriculum. plus, after one of the teacher leaves, i have to be in charge of assembly programs for one of the day in the week. lol. thats going to be fun as i have to learn to control all the kids in the center not just those in my class and get them interested in stories, songs or games before flag raising. well, i'll just take it as time comes. (:

a little update of my life:

into the 2nd half year of 2008, finally i feel that my life is becoming more stable. upon graduation, even though i started working in a production company, life was still rather unstable for me. i worked as a videographer/editor which leaves me busy at times, free as a bee in other times. furthermore, pay wasnt constant too. and i guess thats not the kind of life i would want to live in future. not knowing when i will have job or when i will be paid? even though i completed the job and payment's not in it feels as if i have no money all the time.

i realised that media, is something more of a hobby rather than part of my job/ricebowl or lifestyle. and i learnt alot working in this industry. it is definitely not one i would want to continue staying in. i have had my fair shares or empty promises, lies and hypocrites.

now, im back pursuing my lifelong dream, to open my own childcare in future. i am starting by getting a job as a teacher in the childcare. (: working with kids is my ultimate loveee. its the satisfaction i would be able to get from educating kids and caring for them. their smiles just says it all.

and from there i will continue my studies in this field. hopefully in time to come i would able to oneday, achieve my dream. (:

the first half of the day made me really emotional;
and emotional me leads to retail therapy.

i know retail therapy is bad. but it makes me feel a tweeny little better. (:

- nail-polish (wanted to do pedicures but, thats far too ex)

but at least the rest of the days are fully planned to distract me from thinking... im looking forward to my outing with jen! and this time, we get to go out for an entire day. lots of catching up to do. hehes.

at home, i have a psp, ds, (both loaded with my favourite cute games), pop-cap mindless games, archie comics and new videos to watch. all prepared by my dearest sweet heart. (: ain't it a sweet gesture?


i hope this will help me make it through this 2 weeks. (:
